It’s no secret around here that I love flowers. Almost eight years ago, I moved to Atlanta for my husband to go back to school and I personally needed more creativity in my career. With my background in finance, psychology and art, I found myself working in the floral industry schlepping buckets for almost three years.
My journey of helping people bridge the gap between money and creative entrepreneurship all started with one question as Amy Osaba and I drove home at 2:00am after a long day.
“Why do you stay and break down every event?” I asked.
“I can’t afford a breakdown crew,” she answered.
I get most fired up helping others build businesses that support the lifestyle of their dreams. I love giving others the permission to lay down the chaos and pick up the sustainable. I believe there really is room for all of us, if we focus on OUR “enough” and OUR tribe.
A few weeks ago, I had the honor of chatting with Scott Shepherd over on The Flower Podcast and this episode is one of my favorites.
We dive into understanding cost before pricing, how income equals impact, how to sustainably build a profitable business with confidence, and the one number to know inside your business.
If you ever feel the need for more clients, more money, more weddings, more, more, more—than this episode is for you. Defining your need will give you so much freedom.
I want to encourage you that if you feel burnt out inside your business that there is hope. It takes a few simple steps—not always easy steps—but simple steps that can transform your business. I’ve seen businesses come back from bankruptcy and I’ve seen businesses in their first year make a profit.
You don’t need to stop creating until you’ve tried out the business-side of your business and in this episode you’ll hear all of that and more!
