This quote never feels more true to me than in these moments of reflection. I typically have to pull out my calendar in order to remember what happened at the beginning of the year, and that was less than 12 months ago!

A YEAR IN  REVIEW

Quarter 1 //

High : We had an INCREDIBLE year with The Blueprint Model 2018! We had more students enroll than ever before for the third class. I’m so very proud of all they’ve accomplished. If you haven’t already definitely checkout the My Blueprint Story series we started this year to highlight their inspiring stories!

Low : Tired, so very very tired. Like to my bones tired. So tired my body literally shut down. I ended up on steroids twice and a week of bed rest. Yea … I needed a team 😉 .

Quarter 2 //

High :  Summer Sabbatical!!!! For the first four years of my business I’ve always taken the month of July off. This year I changed it up a bit and took 6 weeks off beginning right after my signature program, The Blueprint Model, semester ended in April through early June! I spent a lot of time visiting friends and taking Sadie for walks!

Low : I wouldn’t necessarily call this a low but I would say July was probably the first time since my new site launch (November 2017), I had really had a chance to slow down and take some time on the website. While I loved the work my brand designer did, I knew there was still a lot of work to be done. So I ended up spending most of the month revising the website (again, 🙄 ) and basically teaching myself how to use ShowIt. Not fun! But I’m proud of how it turned out and excited to continue making it even better in 2019!

Quarter 3 //

High : Hiring a Team!! Hands down the most incredible thing that has happened in business this year. Funny story : I actually never thought I would hire a team. I should write more about that one day, but I just thought I’d keep it small and do only as much as I could handle. Goodness, now there are six of us (if you don’t count Kyle and Sadie our honorary Team Skidmore members)! So cool!

Low : Phew! Ok, I’m gonna be real here. We launched (2) new products this year ( Blueprint at Home AND My Blueprint Year), as well as opened up the Pilot Membership Offer for the new program in development (Creative Money Academy). All of this happened in Q3. To say I was burning the candle at both ends is an understatement! But, we all survived and I am super proud of what we developed! This is when our company mantra was born ‘better everyday’ which just reminded me daily to do my best and know that we’re sticking around for the long haul to make it all better!

Quarter 4 //

High : Ok, so I’m totally going to cheat for this quarter and list (2) Highs! The first was our 2nd annual #blueprintsummit here in Chattanooga TN! We had over 100 of my online Blueprint Model students attend in person (which was amazing) along with some incredible speakers (umm… Erin Loechner came guys!)

High 2 : Having a team for the first time ever has been incredible! For all you entrepreneurs out there I know you can relate to how hard it is to actually take time off in your business! While I’ve gotten pretty great at taking sabbaticals in the summer, the Holidays are always a bit harder with The Blueprint Model opening up the first couple weeks in January! This year has been such a gift! While I’ve still had to work a bit over the Holidays, I’ve gotten to spend so much more time sitting by my tree and reading my advent books because of the hard working ladies on Team Skidmore. I have so much to share about hiring come 2019! Stay tuned for that!

What a year!

If you haven’t already, I encourage you to take time to review your year. If you aren’t sure where to begin just steal our little quarterly review trick!

  1. What is the high and low from each quarter?
  2. What is the lesson learned from those?
  3. What was your most proud moment of the past year?

It’s incredible to remember back the highs and lows of each quarter. And for the reminder …. A lot can happen in a year!
