Meet Bonnie! Bonnie is a Nurse Career Coach living with her hubby and sweet baby boy in North Carolina. We met in the Spring of 2022 through my business finance program, The Blueprint Model, and I have just loved getting to know her. She works as a full time clinical nurse specialist and is currently building her career coaching business on the side. Her business dreams include generating enough revenue to reduce her full time nursing hours while also using her 17 years of nursing experience to help others create a career they love.

From the time I’ve spent with Bonnie I know her to be kind, encouraging, driven, and incredibly smart! I’m beyond thrilled for you to get to hang out with her today for our Student Spotlight!

What you’re currently working on: Brand Awareness and Building out my product packages of 1:1 Career Coaching and a Group Coaching Program for Experienced Nurses.

We probably wouldn’t guess… How much I love sports. When the pandemic hit and we had nothing but a Cornhole tournament to watch, I was all in. Watched every moment of it. That was when I discovered that people make a legit career from playing Cornhole.

Best advice ever received? I was a bedside nurse and was working with a Nurse Practitioner. She came up to me and said “You don’t belong here. You should be doing something else. You are not like everyone else here”. It was in a loving way like you have more to offer in other places. I was already contemplating my next move beyond the bedside, but that served as confirmation. Although this may not be advice for others, it was what I needed to make my next step. I would say for others when people see something in you that confirms your positive thoughts of yourself. Walk in it.

What do you want everyone to know reading this? My motto has always been life is what you make it so don’t let life happen to you. I am not always that way with money. Through Shanna I have been able to learn with my business that my money is what I make it to be. So make a plan, work the plan and continue to lean into the lessons you hear from Shanna. It will stick, but give yourself grace in the process.

Why did you decide to work with Shanna?

Just a few weeks before I signed up, I was at a point of not having direction in my business. I heard another influencer say that you need to make your goals based on how much money you want to make. That had not dawned on me. I was just making random goals. Fast Forward to me hearing Shanna’s Webinar and reading the sales page. I knew that this was the best move to make in order to gain clarity about the direction I need to go in my business. It was the best decision I made.

Oh man, that’s huge Bonnie! “It was the best decision I made”. Cue the tears 😂. Tell me about the big ‘aha’ moments you had during the 6-week program!

I know it sounds silly, but putting the numbers to the products to figure out how many you need to sell in order to cover your expenses and have some left over.

Defining Enough. YES! Knowing exactly what you need to sell to hit your money goals. Sounds so simple and yet not something many do! Tell me about one change or success you’ve experienced since working together!

For almost a year, I was not paying attention to my spending habits. I now pay more attention. I am keeping up with my expenses better and reviewing them on a regular basis which has lead me to thinking about the overall picture of my products.

Although I am still early in my business development, I wish I had found Shanna before I started making money in my business. I would have avoided a lot of money mistakes. However, I am glad I am here now. Thanks Shanna!!
